How to reduce food cravings and not have to take a weight management pill for overeating

Stress can negatively affect the 3 main systems involved in the stress response; Nervous, Immune, and Endocrine (think hormones) Systems.

During persistent stress, the body develops an Imbalance of the 3 systems (depletion of neurotransmitters, hormones (cortisol as the main one), increases in inflammatory mediators among other things. Additionally, stress has an effect on the 2 main hormones that regulate your appetite and metabolism:

  1. Leptin – “Satiety Hormone,” - signals that you are full so you quit eating
  2. Grehlin - “Hunger Hormone” -signals hunger so you eat

Under stress conditions, the brain needs fuel in the form of sugar. In response, the brain send signals to release excessive cortisol, which in turn causes release of grehlin, that tells you to eat; usually sugary high fat foods.

Suggested time to take it should be no surprise; given the scientific studies that indicate the majority of stress-eaters tend to do so in the  late afternoon/evening when we find ourselves reaching for something we probably shouldn’t...

In addition to taking R3SET Stress Eating daily, there are some everyday simple things you can do; try preparing snacks in advance to control portion size or even using a food journal to track what you eat, how much of it and when.
